María Fernanda Villafañe holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the National University of Misiones and a Master’s in Economics from the National University of La Plata. She has experience in the public sector having worked at the Argentinean Ministry of Production and the City of Buenos Aires’ Ministry of Economic Development and Production. She has worked in database system design, macroeconomic and sectoral reporting, and design and implementation of production strategies and public policies. She presented papers at national and international conferences and seminars. She received a scholarship from the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) – Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) to attend the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Meetings in Lima-Peru. She has also worked as lecturer at UNAM and as radio producer of the “Uno a uno” programme at National University of Misiones FM 98.7 Mhz. Her areas of interest include macroeconomics, sustainable development, and public policy.
