Alejandro Avenburg holds a degree in political science from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in the same subject from Boston University. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and the National University of San Martín. He researches corruption and its effects on political behavior using quantitative and experimental methods. He has been awarded grants from the Fulbright Commission, the National Science Foundation, and CONICET and has worked as a consultant on open government issues. He has taught courses on methodology and experimental methods and run thesis workshops at the National University of San Martín, the University of San Andrés, and the University of Bologna (Buenos Aires campus) and he currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses at the National University of San Martín.
