Martín Obaya is an economist with a PhD in social sciences from Monash University (Australia) and an MA in international relations from the University of Bologna (Italy). A researcher with the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), he is based at the Research Center for Transformation at the School of Economics and Business at the National University of San Martín. He specializes in studying technological learning processes in the manufacturing industry and natural resource-intensive sectors. He has provided consultancy services to international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. He has published papers on his research interests in local and international peer-reviewed journals. His currently line of research focuses on lithium governance and the development of linkages and productive capacities around this.
