Daniel Yankelevich holds a BA in computer science from the Latin American School of Information Technology (ESLAI), Argentina, a PhD from the University of Pisa and did his postdoctoral work at North Carolina State University. He has taught and conducted research at several universities in Argentina and has been a visiting professor at other universities in the region. In his private-sector work, he was a founding partner at Practia, a group of companies with a focus on consulting and information technology in Latin America, and was CEO of the group. He has led several commercial and research projects in the world of academia (including a collaboration with the National Science Foundation, USA, and the National Research Council, Italy) and in the private sector, with a particular focus on data science and the impact of technological change on business. He has authored more than 35 technical publications, book chapters, and several widely read articles. He has supervised undergraduate and PhD theses and has taken part in numerous program committees, juries, and technical commissions in various countries. He has been an advisor to the Sadosky Foundation, where he focused on technology transfer, and for the graduate program at Buenos Aires Institute of Technology, Argentina’s Ministry of Science and Technology, and the University of San Andrés. He currently directs the Data and Business program at Torcuato Di Tella University.
